Laurel has enjoyed a long and varied connection with the law. Prior to commencing her career as a Lawyer, she was a police officer with the Queensland Police Service. During her Police career, she performed in a variety of roles including General duties, Juvenile Justice, Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Child Abuse Investigation Unit. Laurel also participated as a member of the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Team working closely with Doctors and officers from the Department of Child Safety to maximise the well being of children at risk.

Laurel was admitted as a Solicitor in 2008 after completing a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Laurel practises in all areas of Family law including property settlement, spousal maintenance, Binding Financial Agreements and has a special interest in children’s issues.
